Teacup and Top Hat

So these might not be cards, but I would call them art. Although, I wouldn't win any Crafting Wars with either one, but for my first time - they rock!

Also as annoyed as my dog looks, he did get a treat after.

The base head band was bought at the Dollar Giant. For the Tea Cup, I used Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2. I cut the shapes out on thin cardboard, the kind that sometimes comes in albums.  After I glued it together I covered it with fabric scraps (you might want to cover it before gluing). The plate section is covered with velvet type material. I put a ribbon around the top of the cup, mostly because I cut the fabric to small and it looked really bad. I sprayed some yellow netting with a distressing mister, and set it aside to dry. I then went to work on decorating. I stayed with the bird water theme of the material. The stuff around the base if Flower Soft. To make it look like hot tea, I added two white wires and spiraled them.

The next one is actually the first one I made. A smart person would have used a template and cardboard as a base, but I of course did not. Therefore the felt is a little flimsy. I also forgot to look in a mirror before gluing the hat on to the headband, so of course it is on the wrong side.
AS mentioned above the whole hat is made of felt. I stuffed it with any remaining small felt pieces. I decorated it with a ribbon around the top and a matching ribbon at the base. There is also a small butterfly on the top corner. The opposite side has a peacock feather, some coloured wires and a fluffy butterfly.

I would love to see your ideas.
